It’s all about spiritual partnerships in relationships where two people are dedicated to each other’s growth, both spiritually and personally, and we are all mirrors for each other. We attract people into our lives called mirrors, sometimes it’s not always the most comfortable thing. However, mirrors are how we grow, and that’s what spiritual partnerships are.
In this episode, we talked about mirrors and about being a universal human or a multi-sensory human, which involves learning how to create authentic power that will eventually make us universal humans. This is an exciting conversation, so let’s go.
Who Is Gary Zukav?
Gary Zukav is a New York Times bestselling author of four consecutive bestseller books. He’s probably best known for Seat of the Soul, which captures the imaginations of millions of people. The book talks about the alignment of the personality and the soul as the fulfillment of life. Another of his bestselling books, Universal Human, invites you to a world based on love, which we also discuss in this episode.
His recent book, Spiritual Partnership, reveals a powerful new relationship dynamic that allows us to reach our full potential and create authentic power, calling us to a life of joy and fulfillment. Spiritual partnerships are not only for couples in marriage. They can be created by two or more individuals who decide to engage as equals for the purpose of spiritual development.
Gary Zukav has appeared 36 times on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and he co-created the Seat of the Soul Institute together with Linda Francis. He is all about helping people step into their authentic power, which is something I’ve been talking about, though in a somewhat different language. For me, that’s the term that I use for diving deeper into the universe inside of you and me and finding a way to create power from within.
We’ll never be satisfied when we are looking for external validations and external things to fill us up. And getting to a place where we are coming from a loving intention versus a fearful intention, is the space that creates authentic power.
As if all that weren’t enough, Gary is also a former green beret officer of the U.S. Army Special Forces, and after his military service, he wrote his first book, The Dancing Wu Li Masters: An Overview of the New Physics. I’m really excited to check this book out because it talks about the dazzling and fascinating world of physics in the quantum field and spirituality and how they all intermix with each other. Understanding that beautiful connection is just a part of being a multisensory human and becoming a universal human.
Harnessing Our Multi-Sensory Personality Beyond the Five Basic Senses
We are all multi-sensory humans. Meaning, our perceptions can sometimes go beyond what we physically see, hear, smell, or taste. We somehow have an understanding that there is another kind of power taking its roots from the deepest source of our beings, which Gary Zukav calls the “authentic power.”
As we discover our authentic power, we also evolve from being a five-sensory human to a multi-sensory human where our perceptions are no longer limited by physical reality but expanded to a bigger dynamical system that the physical reality is only a part of. Gary describes the multi-sensory dimension as an awareness of your soul.
“I’ll give you some examples of multi-sensory perception. … Have you ever had the sense that you’re more than a body and the mind? You’re more than molecules and enzymes, muscles, and neurotransmitters? … That there’s a part of you that existed before you were born, and that exists after you die?”

Have you had an experience when you felt like it already happened before? Have you ever had a gut feeling about something that actually came true? Or maybe you were thinking of someone, and that someone gave you a phone call at that moment? Sometimes, these experiences are the way our soul communicates with us, allowing us to experience our multi-sensory being.

Creating Authentic Power to Become A Universal Human
To become a universal human, you must first learn how to create authentic power, which is a process that doesn’t happen overnight. It happens choice by choice and intention by intention. It’s easy to know how to play basketball, but it takes time to build the skills to become a great player. If you want to bake a cake, you need to learn how to do it. So if you want to create authentic power, you should also learn how to do it with a clear purpose and intention.

Every time you choose gratitude, love, happiness, and harmony, you are challenging some parts of you that want otherwise. These are the parts that prefer to be angry, jealous, sad, or frightened. But as you challenge the negative parts of you, they will have less power over you while you’re becoming more positively powerful. Eventually, their negative power over you vanishes as you create authentic power.
How about you? What will you choose — love or hatred, peace or war, sadness or happiness, courage or fear? The choice is yours. As for me, I want to choose love, peace, happiness, and courage. A part of my personality loves taking photographs, while some parts of me love to make custom hats. Either way, both make me feel good, grateful, and blissful.

And when you act on that energy, which feels blissful, which feels good, you want more of it, you create constructive consequences in your life. This is how you create authentic power.”

Sometimes, life can throw difficult and painful experiences at us. But when you are able to create authentic power, you’ll remain blissful and grateful for any experience — be they happy or painful.

As we evolve and move into a resilient life, we should begin projecting ourselves as multi-sensory beings. A great way to start is finding time in the stillness and quietness of the soothing environment around us with the intent of listening to our soul. Just by being present in the moment and being aware of the surrounding energies, you are opening the portals to a multi-sensory experience, which paves the way to becoming a universal human.
The Formula for Creative Alchemy
Gary is such an amazing person and it was exciting to have Gary on the show. He has so much wisdom to share, and Gary has just shown us that harnessing your multi-sensory personality and learning how to create authentic power is a perfect formula for Creative Alchemy.
Alchemy is defined as the process of taking something ordinary and converting it into something extraordinary, sometimes in a way beyond explanations.
With that being said, I define Identity Alchemy as the process of deconstructing who you don’t want to be in order to realize who you want to become.
Through it, you’ll be able to identify your shadows or the things you don’t want to be true about you and shed them slowly. I believe that the deconstruction process of life and your inner world is such a huge piece of understanding who you are so that you can curate who you want to become. In general, I noticed for myself that the more inner work that I do — the deeper shadow work that I do to understand myself — the better life becomes towards the path of wholeness. Gary Zukav is a good example of a Creative Alchemist, and I was honored to have him on the podcast today.

A part of my personality loves taking photographs, while some parts of me love to make custom hats. Either way, both make me feel good, grateful, and blissful.

Sometimes, life can throw difficult and painful experiences at us. But when you are able to create authentic power, you’ll remain blissful and grateful for any experience — be they happy or painful.

As we evolve and move into a resilient life, we should begin projecting ourselves as multi-sensory beings. A great way to start is finding time in the stillness and quietness of the soothing environment around us with the intent of listening to our soul. Just by being present in the moment and being aware of the surrounding energies, you are opening the portals to a multi-sensory experience, which paves the way to becoming a universal human.
The Formula for Creative Alchemy
Gary is such an amazing person and it was exciting to have Gary on the show. He has so much wisdom to share, and Gary has just shown us that harnessing your multi-sensory personality and learning how to create authentic power is a perfect formula for Creative Alchemy.
Alchemy is defined as the process of taking something ordinary and converting it into something extraordinary, sometimes in a way beyond explanations.
With that being said, I define Identity Alchemy as the process of deconstructing who you don’t want to be in order to realize who you want to become.
Through it, you’ll be able to identify your shadows or the things you don’t want to be true about you and shed them slowly. I believe that the deconstruction process of life and your inner world is such a huge piece of understanding who you are so that you can curate who you want to become. In general, I noticed for myself that the more inner work that I do — the deeper shadow work that I do to understand myself — the better life becomes towards the path of wholeness. Gary Zukav is a good example of a Creative Alchemist, and I was honored to have him on the podcast today.

I was born in a low middle class conservative religious family in the suburbs of Seattle. Art was and always has been my passion, and more than that a way of life. Starting as a graphic designer, I taught myself photography, built a commercial/editorial business shooting for the worlds biggest brands like Nike, Coca-Cola, Adidas and more. I've also had the opportunity to photograph the world's biggest celebrities like Justin Bieber, Usher, Jessica Alba and more. I've curated a lifestyle around creativity and have learned a lot along the way which I get to share here.
