“The basic choice is love or fear.”
– Gary Zukav
Welcome to another episode of the ONKEN RADIO (previously NION Radio), the podcast where we explore the body, mind, and soul of the creative entrepreneur. I’m on a mission to help you take your creativity, business, and life to the next level, and it brings me great joy to know you’re joining me on this journey.
Today, I’m excited to bring you a very special guest. His name is Gary Zukav, and he’s on a mission to show us how we can grow beyond the limitations of the five senses through expanded consciousness, spiritual growth, and a process of consulting our intuition.
“Every creation is a co-creation.”
– Gary Zukav
It’s all about spiritual partnerships in relationships where two people are dedicated to each other’s growth, both spiritually and personally, and we are all mirrors for each other. We attract people into our lives called mirrors, sometimes it’s not always the most comfortable thing. However, mirrors are how we grow, and that’s what spiritual partnerships are.
In this episode, we talked about mirrors and about being a universal human or a multi-sensory human, which involves learning how to create authentic power that will eventually make us universal humans. This is an exciting conversation, so let’s go.
Gary Zukav is a New York Times bestselling author of four consecutive bestseller books. He’s probably best known for Seat of the Soul, which captures the imaginations of millions of people. The book talks about the alignment of the personality and the soul as the fulfillment of life. Another of his bestselling books, Universal Human, invites you to a world based on love, which we also discuss in this episode.
His recent book, Spiritual Partnership, reveals a powerful new relationship dynamic that allows us to reach our full potential and create authentic power, calling us to a life of joy and fulfillment. Spiritual partnerships are not only for couples in marriage. They can be created by two or more individuals who decide to engage as equals for the purpose of spiritual development.
Gary Zukav has appeared 36 times on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and he co-created the Seat of the Soul Institute together with Linda Francis. He is all about helping people step into their authentic power, which is something I’ve been talking about, though in a somewhat different language. For me, that’s the term that I use for diving deeper into the universe inside of you and me and finding a way to create power from within.
We’ll never be satisfied when we are looking for external validations and external things to fill us up. And getting to a place where we are coming from a loving intention versus a fearful intention, is the space that creates authentic power.
As if all that weren’t enough, Gary is also a former green beret officer of the U.S. Army Special Forces, and after his military service, he wrote his first book, The Dancing Wu Li Masters: An Overview of the New Physics. I’m really excited to check this book out because it talks about the dazzling and fascinating world of physics in the quantum field and spirituality and how they all intermix with each other. Understanding that beautiful connection is just a part of being a multisensory human and becoming a universal human.
We are all multi-sensory humans. Meaning, our perceptions can sometimes go beyond what we physically see, hear, smell, or taste. We somehow have an understanding that there is another kind of power taking its roots from the deepest source of our beings, which Gary Zukav calls the “authentic power.”
As we discover our authentic power, we also evolve from being a five-sensory human to a multi-sensory human where our perceptions are no longer limited by physical reality but expanded to a bigger dynamical system that the physical reality is only a part of. Gary describes the multi-sensory dimension as an awareness of your soul.
“I’ll give you some examples of multi-sensory perception. … Have you ever had the sense that you’re more than a body and the mind? You’re more than molecules and enzymes, muscles, and neurotransmitters? … That there’s a part of you that existed before you were born, and that exists after you die?”
– Gary Zukav
Have you had an experience when you felt like it already happened before? Have you ever had a gut feeling about something that actually came true? Or maybe you were thinking of someone, and that someone gave you a phone call at that moment? Sometimes, these experiences are the way our soul communicates with us, allowing us to experience our multi-sensory being.
“If you’re having these experiences … you’re not crazy. You’re not … becoming insane. You’re becoming aware you’re entering a larger dimension of yourself and of the universe, which ultimately are the same.”
– Gary Zukav
For the multi-sensory humans, the physical world is a learning environment in co-creation with the other souls sharing everything occurring within the sphere. Every decision you make and action you take will shape your evolutionary process. You can choose to either evolve consciously or unconsciously, and your choices will define your personality.
As you create your life with intentions, you are aligning yourself with your soul. Eventually, you will continually be in a state of joy and gratitude, even when life throws difficult moments at you, as you transition from being a multi-sensory being into a universal human where your awareness is on a soul level and beyond the physical realm.
To become a universal human, you must first learn how to create authentic power, which is a process that doesn’t happen overnight. It happens choice by choice and intention by intention. It’s easy to know how to play basketball, but it takes time to build the skills to become a great player. If you want to bake a cake, you need to learn how to do it. So if you want to create authentic power, you should also learn how to do it with a clear purpose and intention.
“So creating authentic power is not a shortcut or a fast track to the universal human. — It’s a requirement. And universal humanity emerges from authentically powerful humanity.”
– Gary Zukav
Every time you choose gratitude, love, happiness, and harmony, you are challenging some parts of you that want otherwise. These are the parts that prefer to be angry, jealous, sad, or frightened. But as you challenge the negative parts of you, they will have less power over you while you’re becoming more positively powerful. Eventually, their negative power over you vanishes as you create authentic power.
How about you? What will you choose — love or hatred, peace or war, sadness or happiness, courage or fear? The choice is yours. As for me, I want to choose love, peace, happiness, and courage. A part of my personality loves taking photographs, while some parts of me love to make custom hats. Either way, both make me feel good, grateful, and blissful.
“There’s other parts of your personality that are already aligned with your soul, and you experience them as gratitude, appreciation, caring, contentment, patience — all of the universe. And when you act on that energy, which feels blissful, which feels good, you want more of it, you create constructive consequences in your life. This is how you create authentic power.”
– Gary Zukav
Sometimes, life can throw difficult and painful experiences at us. But when you are able to create authentic power, you’ll remain blissful and grateful for any experience — be they happy or painful.
“Authentic power is not making the pain go away, but It’s becoming aware [of it]. You’re alive not in order to feel good all the time but to become able to move through your life with an empowered heart, without attention to the outcome. That’s authentic power.”
– Gary Zukav
As we evolve and move into a resilient life, we should begin projecting ourselves as multi-sensory beings. A great way to start is finding time in the stillness and quietness of the soothing environment around us with the intent of listening to our soul. Just by being present in the moment and being aware of the surrounding energies, you are opening the portals to a multi-sensory experience, which paves the way to becoming a universal human.
Gary is such an amazing person and it was exciting to have Gary on the show. He has so much wisdom to share, and Gary has just shown us that harnessing your multi-sensory personality and learning how to create authentic power is a perfect formula for Creative Alchemy.
Alchemy is defined as the process of taking something ordinary and converting it into something extraordinary, sometimes in a way beyond explanations.
With that being said, I define Identity Alchemy as the process of deconstructing who you don’t want to be in order to realize who you want to become.
Through it, you’ll be able to identify your shadows or the things you don’t want to be true about you and shed them slowly. I believe that the deconstruction process of life and your inner world is such a huge piece of understanding who you are so that you can curate who you want to become. In general, I noticed for myself that the more inner work that I do — the deeper shadow work that I do to understand myself — the better life becomes towards the path of wholeness. Gary Zukav is a good example of a Creative Alchemist, and I was honored to have him on the podcast today.
Thank you so much for joining me today, guys! I loved this episode so much, and I’m grateful to Gary for the opportunity to talk to him and learn from him.

Emanate is a creative-direction-led photography experience for entrepreneurs, speakers, and thought leaders in a moment of expansion. This isn’t about better photos. It’s about aligning how you’re seen with who you’ve become. For seasons of rebrand, visibility, and next-level leadership.
Magnetic Authority is a self-guided container for people who feel visible, but not fully anchored.
If your message keeps shifting, your brand feels inconsistent, or your presence doesn’t match your capability yet. This is where you build the foundation before you scale.
For founders, creatives, and leaders who want a trusted long-term partner. This isn’t coaching or traditional consulting.
It’s an ongoing creative partnership focused on bringing your personal brand identity to life.
Your brand. Your website. Your visuals.
All shaped as a direct extension of who you are. The work also includes a bespoke process of identifying and aligning the right experts when needed, so nothing gets built out of sync with your core.
Quiet. Precise. Highly Selective.

A real brand team runs $30,000 to $70,000 a year. Here is the full breakdown of what each role costs, and the engine I built to replace it for $997.

Your AI sounds generic because it reads the whole internet and returns the average. Here is how to make AI write in your actual voice instead.

For two decades I made other people’s brands coherent while my own waited. Here is the Brand Intelligence Engine I built to finally close that gap.

The Brand Intelligence Engine is an AI personal brand system that builds the complete infrastructure of a premium brand in three phases. Here’s exactly what happens inside, what it produces, and who it’s built for.

Your content strategy is not working because the problem isn’t content. It’s what’s underneath it. When your brand lacks identity and visual translation, posting more just amplifies incoherence. Here’s the trap and how to escape it.

This personal brand audit takes two minutes and reveals exactly where your brand is broken. Four questions, one for each layer of brand intelligence. Most people fail at least two. Here’s the diagnostic.

Your personal brand identity is not you. It’s a translation of you. When you confuse the two, you either freeze up or perform. Neither builds authority. Here’s the distinction that changes how you show up online.

The biggest personal brand photography investment mistake isn’t underspending on photos. It’s investing $50,000 in coaching, ads, and masterminds while spending $500 on visual identity. Here’s what that costs you and how to fix the order.

I spent 20 years photographing personal brands. I watched brilliant people stay invisible because they skipped the layers nobody talks about. So I built the Brand Intelligence Engine to fix it. Here’s the full story.

Your AI content sounds generic because the AI doesn’t know who you are. It’s not a tool problem. It’s an input problem. Without your identity, voice, and brand intelligence loaded, every AI produces the same bland output. Here’s how to fix it.

Creativity as intelligence is the idea that creative work isn’t about expressing who you already are. It’s about constructing who you’re becoming. Most people treat creativity as output. It’s actually architecture. Here’s why that changes everything.

The personal brand identity gap is the distance between your expertise and your visibility. When who you are doesn’t match how you’re seen online, it’s not a marketing problem. It’s a coherence problem. Here’s how to close it.
I was born in a low middle class conservative religious family in the suburbs of Seattle. Art was and always has been my passion, and more than that a way of life. Starting as a graphic designer, I taught myself photography, built a commercial/editorial business shooting for the worlds biggest brands like Nike, Coca-Cola, Adidas and more. I've also had the opportunity to photograph the world's biggest celebrities like Justin Bieber, Usher, Jessica Alba and more. I've curated a lifestyle around creativity and have learned a lot along the way which I get to share here.
