“Can’t I just dress like me?” And I said: “We need to dress like the upleveled version of you.”
She was being asked to hold herself in the energy of who she was becoming—not just who she had been.
We curated locations in New Zealand. She flew me out. We explored untouched landscapes, scouted sacred spaces, and even considered a helicopter ride to the top of a volcano.
Why? Because that volcano represented her work—the higher perspective, the nothingness and everything. She said:
“Every decision took me so far beyond my comfort zone. But I kept remembering why I was doing this. I wanted to resonate at a much higher level.”

Once we began, something shifted. Nicky, who had worked with many photographers before, finally felt seen.
She danced. She moved. She relaxed into herself. Every time her nerves spiked, I saw it—and guided her back to presence.

I was born in a low middle class conservative religious family in the suburbs of Seattle. Art was and always has been my passion, and more than that a way of life. Starting as a graphic designer, I taught myself photography, built a commercial/editorial business shooting for the worlds biggest brands like Nike, Coca-Cola, Adidas and more. I've also had the opportunity to photograph the world's biggest celebrities like Justin Bieber, Usher, Jessica Alba and more. I've curated a lifestyle around creativity and have learned a lot along the way which I get to share here.
