onken's world podcast
In this episode, I delve into my transformative experience with Noya Rao during my second dieta in Peru. Many people are familiar with the profound effects of their first plant medicine journey, but I can confidently say that the second dieta takes the experience to an entirely new level.
I begin by introducing Noya Rao, a rare plant medicine derived from a tree that is nearly extinct, with only a few remaining in the world. This tree, known for its phosphorescent leaves, is protected by the Shipibo tribe, who have safeguarded its legacy. The medicine is extracted from the tree’s sap and is traditionally consumed alongside ayahuasca during a dieta, which is a focused period of working with a specific plant.
Reflecting on my first experience with Noya Rao, I describe it as a powerful dismantling of my ego and identity, likening it to an explosion that reshapes one’s understanding of self. This year, I returned to deepen my journey, eager to explore the next level of expansion in my life, business, and relationships.
Throughout the episode, I share the nuances of my ceremonies, highlighting how each one differed from the last. The first ceremony mirrored my previous experience, stripping away layers of identity and ego. However, the second ceremony took an unexpected turn, leading me into a darker space that required me to confront deeper issues. This was a necessary part of the journey, allowing me to prepare for the subsequent ceremonies.
As I progressed through the dieta, I learned to navigate the medicine more effectively, utilizing sound and vocal toning to move energy within my body. This year, I felt a greater sense of agency and connection with the medicine, allowing me to actively participate in my healing process.
The shamans played a crucial role in this experience, singing personalized ikaros that enhanced the medicine’s effects. I emphasize that the insights gained from Noya Rao transcend language, operating on a frequency level that is difficult to articulate. The medicine works beyond the mind, installing new frequencies within my system that I can feel integrating into my being.
In the final ceremonies, I focused on integrating the experiences and frequencies I had encountered. I describe the post-dieta phase, which requires strict dietary restrictions to honor the medicine’s growth within me. This period is essential for allowing the medicine to fully integrate and expand in my life.
Ultimately, I reflect on how my relationship with Noya Rao has matured, evolving from a purely healing experience to one of activation and living from an elevated frequency. I invite listeners who have experienced Noya Rao to share their journeys, emphasizing that each medicine journey is unique and deeply personal.
As I conclude the episode, I express my gratitude for the opportunity to work with this master medicine and my excitement for the year ahead, eager to see how these experiences will continue to shape my life. Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I look forward to sharing more insights in future episodes.

I was born in a low middle class conservative religious family in the suburbs of Seattle. Art was and always has been my passion, and more than that a way of life. Starting as a graphic designer, I taught myself photography, built a commercial/editorial business shooting for the worlds biggest brands like Nike, Coca-Cola, Adidas and more. I've also had the opportunity to photograph the world's biggest celebrities like Justin Bieber, Usher, Jessica Alba and more. I've curated a lifestyle around creativity and have learned a lot along the way which I get to share here.
